My Story

Our story

My Story

My father grew up without shoes. Through the Catholic Mission, he received a pair of sneakers and wore them proudly to school, church, and every important occasion. That experience stayed with him for the rest of his days. It shaped the kind of father he became, one who made sure his own children never had to go without.

I grew up watching that, and it became part of who I am too. Over time, it grew from something personal into something bigger: a mission to make sure no child in our community goes to school without proper shoes, whether they are family, friends, or neighbours.

That is why we make quality school shoes available at special discounted prices, so families can give their children what they need without the financial strain. And it is also why we are building something beyond just selling shoes. We are training people in shoemaking, teaching them to craft leather products that are strong, well-made, and built to last.

Stories from the communities we serve

Aminata walks to school in her own shoes

Freetown

Aminata used to share a pair of shoes with her sister, taking turns to attend class. Her family bought a discounted pair through our school shoe programme and she has not missed a school day since.

From trainee to workshop lead

Freetown

Mohamed joined our first apprenticeship cohort with no experience. He now leads finishing in the workshop and trains new intakes himself.

A classroom of proper shoes

Waterloo

A community donation covered shoes for an entire primary class ahead of the new term.
